High spectral resolution multi-tone Spacecraft Doppler tracking software: Algorithms and implementations

Abstract We present a software package for single-dish data processing of spacecraft signals observed with VLBI-equipped radio telescopes. The Spacecraft Doppler tracking (SDtracker) allows one to obtain topocentric frequency detections sub-Hz precision and reconstructed residual phases the carrier signal any or landing vehicle at location in Solar System. These products are estimated using ground-based telescope’s highly stable oscillator as reference, without requiring an priori model dynamics nor downlink transmission frequency. has been extensively validated multiple observing campaigns various deep space missions is compatible raw sample acquired by standard VLBI telescope worldwide. In this paper, we report numerical methodology SDtracker, technical operations deployment usage, summary use cases scientific results produced since its initial release.
